RB-1 PIN Pad Token

The RB-1 PIN Pad token is a highly configurable, multi-function device and is the most versatile of the hardware tokens. It is ideally suited to users that must have the freedom to log on from any computer running any operating system in any location, or generate digital signatures for Web-based forms. It is also ideal for applications that require the use of challenge/response mode.

The RB-1 PIN Pad Token generates a new password each time the token is activated. The token is activated by entering a PIN using the keypad.

Recommended usage
  • Authenticate users at network, system, application, and desktop levels
  • Secure internal and remote network access
  • Compatible with leading remote access servers, wireless access points, Web servers, firewall, and VPNs
  • Kerberos systems requiring challenge/response mode
  • Web-form digital signature
Programmable Tokens

RB-1 tokens can be initialized with a new key using the RB initializer available from CRYPTOCard. The token can also be reprogrammed to modify password complexity, encryption algorithms and other attributes. The default operating parameters for preprogrammed tokens are:
  • Encryption Type: AES 192-bit
  • Passcode Type: Numeric
  • Passcode Length: 6
  • PIN Type: Input to activate token
RB-1 tokens support a wide range of operating modes that can be modified using CRYPTO-Server and a serial or USB token initializer, according to organizational and security policy requirements. The initialization process requires 10-15 seconds per token.

Key configurable features include:
  • Authentication mode
    Event Synchronous
    Challenge/Response
  • Digital signature mode
  • Encryption algorithm
    AES 128, 192, 256
  • Passcode management
    Passcode complexity
    Passcode length
    Passcodes per PIN cycle
  • PIN management
    Token-based PIN
    Server-side PIN
    PIN complexity
    PIN length
Maximum number of consecutive, incorrect PIN attempts
  • Key management
    Key length selection (AES 128, 192, 256)
Key is randomized with each initialization
The RB-1 is powered by two replaceable coin-cell batteries that provide 5+ years of service. Batteries may be replaced as required to extend the service life of the token. A low battery warning will appear on the LCD display approximately two months before the batteries are exhausted.

CRYPTOCard provides a 5-year limited warranty for the RB-1 token.
