KT-3 Key Chain Token

The added feature to the KT-3 token over the other members of the KT family of tokens, is that it supports HID capabilities. The HID, or proximity, functionality of the KT-3 is completely separate from its OTP functionality.

The KT-3 Key Chain token generates a new passcode each time the token is activated. The token is activated by pressing the button beside the LCD display.

Recommended usage

  • Authenticate users at network, system, application, and desktop levels
  • Secure internal and remote network access
  • Compatible with leading remote access servers, wireless access points, Web servers, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Allow HID access for employees

Programmable Tokens

KT-3 tokens can be initialized with a new key using the optional KT initializer, available from CRYPTOCard. The token can also be reprogrammed to modify password complexity, encryption algorithms and other attributes.

KT-3 tokens are programmable and support a wide range of operating modes that can be modified using a KT token initializer, according to organizational and security policy requirements. The initialization process requires 10-15 seconds per token.

Key configurable features include:

        Authentication mode
        Event Based

        Encryption algorithm
        AES 128, 192, 256
        OATH

        Passcode Complexity
        5, 6, 7, or 8 characters
        Numeric (0-9)
        Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F)

        PIN management
        Token-based PIN
        Server-side PIN
        “No PIN” option
PIN complexity (numeric, alphanumeric, strong alphanumeric)
        Configurable minimum PIN length
Disallow trivial PINs (1234, 1111, ABCD)
Maximum number of consecutive incorrect PIN attempts

        Key management
        Key length selection (AES 128, 192, 256)
Key is randomized with each initialization

        HID Capabilities
The KT-3 contains a 125 Khz. proximity transponder, which enables it to
unlock doors controlled by electronic door management systems (HID
        Corporation's H10301 format).
Simply bring the KT-3 close to the proximity reader adjacent to a door
and, if the user of that KT-3 is permitted access, the door will unlock.

The KT-3 includes a built-in power source that provides 5+ years of service. A low battery warning will appear on the LCD display approximately two months before the batteries are exhausted.

CRYPTOCard provides a 3-year limited warranty for the KT-3 token.
