INFOSECURITY EUROPE 2009, STAND L70, April 29, 2009 - CRYPTOCard, a leading developer of two-factor authentication (2FA) technology, today announced an OEM deal with global USB flash drive and portable security device vendor, IronKey. CRYPTOCard’s multi-platform software token has been integrated across IronKey’s product portfolio, enabling organisations to implement a combined 2FA security strategy that protects data held on mobile storage devices, such as a USB drive, and secures the network against unauthorised access.

Neil Hollister, CEO of CRYPTOCard, explains; “Businesses and government organisations are under increasing pressure from the UK’s Information Commissioners Office to take additional measures to protect data on mobile and portable devices. This is further compounded by a continued drive to improve the security of access to data stored within the network.

Combining our password token technology with IronKey’s suite of products creates a ‘trusted’ environment for data stored outside of the traditional network perimeter, and also ensures the identity of users accessing the network remotely.”

Mitigating the risks associated with data leaving the network, the combined security and storage device also minimises the number of security devices and processes users are required to carry and comply with.

According to CRYPTOCard reseller BSS Ltd, this will appeal to organisations looking to reduce the cost of security processes, but not compromise on the threat of data or identity theft.

By embedding CRYPTOCard technology into IronKey’s suite of products, users are provided with a portable 2FA solution via a device they are carrying anyway, eliminating the need to carry a separate token. Data is further protected with high-speed, military-grade hardware encryption, intelligent anti-malware controls, and encased in a waterproof and tamper resistant housing.

CRYPTOCard, a leading developer of two-factor authentication (2FA) technology, today announced the latest feature upgrade to its managed authentication service, CRYPTO-MAS. The LDAP Agent upgrade will enable businesses to synchronise business directories with their 2FA managed service, helping to reduce the administrative overhead of updating employee profiles.

“Many of our clients want to automate as many of the processes associated with managing and maintaining their password systems as possible. The desire to streamline workflows and ensure that additional layers of security are aligned with those desires is rapidly increasing,” explained Neil Hollister, CEO of CRYPTOCard.

Hollister added; “Unlike traditional authentication servers, CRYPTO-MAS significantly reduces on-going management overheads. However, our customers asked us to find a way of integrating the service with their existing directories, but without compromising data integrity or security. The LDAP Agent provides just that – a continual update of the managed service to reflect changes within the corporate directory.”

The Agent is installed on a company’s Active Directory server and provides regular updates to the CRYPTO-MAS service over an encrypted secure link. The agent can be configured to allow a business to determine when data is sent to the service. The Agent helps automate the provisioning process, thus reducing the time and costs associated with deployment and integration.

“The ability to automatically update CRYPTO-MAS with the details of our clients’ Active Directory will mean the seamless log-in to a wide range of applications offered by AD is now totally secure. CRYPTOCard Seeks To End Card-Not-Present Fraud Whilst Providing a Multi-Channel Authentication Solution for Financial Institutions

Launches combined two-factor authentication and payment card to secure online transactions for business banking and retailers

In response to escalating online banking and credit card fraud, CRYPTOCard, a leading developer of two-factor authentication (2FA) technology, today launches its first combined 2FA payment card. The CD-1 Credit Card Display token is designed to secure online and telephone transactions and address issues where card-not-present[1] (CNP) fraud is estimated to cost businesses in excess of £183million[2] a year.

The CD-1 uses an innovative design and manufacturing process to deliver all of the benefits of authentication technology, combined with the traditional functions of a payment card in a single credit card sized device making it ideal for financial institutions and online retail applications. Based on the premise of 2FA – something you know, such as PIN, and something you have, a credit card token - CD-1 provides users with secure one-time passwords (OTP), in order to deliver high levels of security when logging-in to their online or telephone banking account. It is currently being piloted at a number of multinational financial institutions.

Neil Hollister, CEO of CRYPTOCard, explains; “The continued growth in credit card fraud is of huge concern to our customers, particularly those in finance and retail. Figures released by APACS, for example, show a 185% increase in online banking fraud for the first six months of 2008 alone.

“CD-1 is the next generation of 2FA solutions that will help banks in a couple of ways; firstly, it will improve security for businesses and consumers making on-line or telephone financial transactions through a simple integration with a banks’ channel strategy; secondly, it will mitigate concerns relating to identity fraud during card-not-present based transactions.”

Rik Turner, senior financial services analyst for Datamonitor, adds; “Banks recognise the desirability of two-factor authentication and some have extended it to retail customers by issuing dedicated one-time password (OTP) generators to use in association with a PIN number. The downside of that approach, however, is that it means one more device to carry with you, and thus also one more that can be left in a taxi or have coffee spilt on it. There is clearly market opportunity for something that delivers OTP functionality, along with the features of another device such as a payment or building access card, and in a convenient form factor.”

Florida-based Worldwide Interactive Services is a provider of hosted voice and internet information delivery solutions for more than 400 customers throughout 44 states and the Caribbean.

Worldwide delivers access to information services for banks and credit unions to provide their customers and members with account inquiries, fund transfers, payment inquiries and requests, branch locations and identification authentication. Dell to position CRYPTOCard’s Two-Factor Authentication technology with remote access and small business server products

OTTAWA, ON and Bristol, UK , October 29, 2008 -

CRYPTOCard, a company specializing in Two-factor authentication technology, today announced it has signed an exclusive sales agreement with Dell Inc. to deliver CRYPTOCard’s newest product, BlackShield ID Small Business Edition, to customers in Canada.

SMBs are realizing that static passwords present a significant vulnerability, especially when allowing network access through VPN or popular web-based applications such as Outlook Web Access, Sharepoint and Remote Web Workplace. CRYPTOCard’s BlackShield ID Small Business Edition helps customers mitigate the threat to their IT based assets posed by ID theft, hacking, shoulder surfing and key logging.

In addition, Dell will offer BlackShield ID Small Business Edition customers up to a 50% savings off the standard list price on orders placed before the end of 2008.
