CRYPTOCard Signs Five New Partners in the UK

Cryptocard has claimed hosted two-factor authentication (2FA) is now a serious option for large enterprises after snaring five more UK partners to offer its Crypto-Mas platform.

The partners involved are Cygnia Technologies, NetThreat, i-Topia, Redstone Managed Solutions and Axial Systems, which already sells Cryptocard’s on-premise BlackShield ID offering.

Gary Marsden, vice president of managed services at Cryptocard, predicted that hosted would generate half of the vendor’s new sales by the end of the year.

“Two years ago lots of people were looking at [hosted 2FA] trials and it was mainly SMEs adopting,” he said. “This year we have seen large enterprises take it seriously.”

Marsden added: “Crypto-Mas is very simple to deploy. Resellers see it as a good way of getting their foot on the first rung of the hosted ladder without a massive investment upfront.”

Dave Abraham, chief executive of rival outfit Signify, estimated that hosted now represents 10-15 per cent of the UK 2FA market and claimed his firm had greater experience.

“Cryptocard’s advantage is it makes the tokens [Signify partners with RSA] but it has only been doing hosted for three or four years,” he said.

Customer Quote

Kimberly-Clark Corporation

"We have been using Two-Factor Authentication for a number of years, but needed to improve the capabilities of the solution to include better reporting and administration as well as dramatically increasing the reliance of the service while at the same time reducing cost. Out of all the products we looked at, BlackShield ID came out on top, providing us with the best overall solution that met all of our requirements ”

Stephen DelVecchio, i2

“If any organisation is looking for an easy way to escape expensive licensing models, I would not hesitate in recommending CRYPTOCard.”
