CRYPTOCard Overview

CRYPTOCard delivers its technology across a wide range of markets, from banking and insurance through to central and local government.  Many of our solutions have been specifically developed for certain markets, such as the CD-1 token which is ideal for the banking and retail market places.  You can find examples of our customers by clicking here.

Our technology is used by small and medium sized businesses to secure access to their data and by large multi-national organisations to secure access to their networks.  Our customer base includes many of the worlds leading nuclear research laboratories such as Los Alamos, government organisations such as NASA, Banks such as Raiffeissen and Dubai Bank and a wide range of local and central government institutions across Europe and North America.

CRYPTOCard technology has been used for over 20 years to solve the problems that businesses face due to the continued use of static passwords. CRYPTOCard offers strong passwords through innovative password security.

Static passwords are not only in-secure, but because they are easily copied, lost or stolen, they present a business with the challenges of managing and replacing lost or forgotten passwords.  The nightmare of having users writing down passwords for password security on to Posit-IT notes and attaching them to the screen or keyboard of their PC is an all too common theme. A stronger password validation solution must be in place.

The unabated increases in ID theft, Hacking, Phishing and other website security e-crimes are a constant worry to businesses. Two-Factor Authentication uses the principles of something that you have (a token) and something that you know (a PIN) to replace standard password security.

Our Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) solutions have provided strong password security solutions that have delivered the answer to many business password security problems, including:-

  • Compliance to PCI, HIPAA and other international regulatory standards
  • Compliance to specific industry requirements such as GCSx and Code of Connection in the UK
  • Improved auditability for standards such as Base 1 & 2 and Sarbanes Oxley
  • Reduced risk through the provision of strong passwords
  • Increase security for VPN Services including SLL and IP based networks
  • Improved security for web and portal based applications such as business banking

CRYPTOCard technology is available in three different forms:-

CRYPTOCards Two-Factor Authentication tokens are well recognised as offering the highest levels of one-time (OTP) password security though the use of Base64 algorithm – which provides the highest level of complexity for password validation. Our PIN complexity also offers a high degree of flexibility and security.  Our tokens can also be configured and re-configured as security policy needs dictate – offering a degree of security not available elsewhere.

Hardware tokens

Using military grade technology, the KT-1 token is the most robust token on the market.  Our hardware tokens offer a wide range of options to meet the varying needs of users.  Our RB-1 token is the perfect password security solution to challenge response applications and our USB and smart card based devices answer the need for usability and mobility.

Software tokens

Our software tokens are compatible with a wide range of operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux) and are used on platforms such as desktops, laptops, BlackBerry’s and PDA’s.

On-demand tokens

Our award winning and innovative SMS based token has been used to replace traditional tokens with a solution that leverages the ever present mobile phone – removing the need to carry additional devices and reducing the costs of deployment and provisioning.
